Love or Nature, Whimsical or Defiant Political Protest, Past, Present or Future -- "Sonnets By A Black Man"
is dedicated to the perservation of formal, metered, rhythmic, rhyming poetry. Poetry written by African Americans in
the traditonal style of poets like James Weldon Johnson, Claude McKay, Countee Cullen, Helen Johnson, Georgia Douglas Johnson,
Paul Laurence Dunbar and countless others. This page hopes to continue the tradition of such notable bards and reintroduce
old and new audiences to the scope and beauty of such verse. Please check out
one or all of the sonnets and cadences on this site. All of them are included in the first edition of latest book, "Collage," a
