On Romney's Vote to Convict

On Romney's Vote to Convict [aka "Integrity"]

He faced the easy road, but road the rail.
O'er comforting deceit, he chose the gale.
For some fear less, alas, what mortals do,
Than what their God will do to those untrue.
And so before the hall he bore his heart.
The basis for his stance he dared impart:
Ere faith and conscience, I cannot acquit,
My oath ere God demands I vote, 'Convict."
How quickly rose the rancor and the jeers,
For blist'ring Truth must sear [seer] such impish ears.
One honest voice exposed their greatest fears.
Their misdeeds will be scorned in coming years.
Although on most things we may ne'er agree,
I still admire his integrity.
